When you’ve spent all your time researching and stocking up on the big ticket items, such as high chairs, strollers, and cots, nursing, or breastfeeding covers can seem like a minor consideration. However, they’re actually far more controversial than the small piece of fabric would suggest.
Nursing Covers
Stop Baby Getting Distracted While Feeding With These Gorgeous Covers
Beautiful Nursing Covers
There are several types available, but all are designed to cover you and your baby when you’re breastfeeding in a public place.
- Apron style covers are designed to fit around your neck, draping over your chest and stomach
- Shawl style covers can be worn as part of your outfit, doubling up as a nursing cover when necessary
- Convertible covers tend to be large loops of fabric, designed not just for nursing, but also for a high chair, or car seat cover or for use as a soothing blanket when your little one is tired and fretful
Breastfeeding in public is always going to be controversial, unfortunately, and the use of a nursing cover can be seen as caving in to the pressure that society places on new moms.
If you have a newborn, or are new to the whole breastfeeding thing, and covering up makes you feel more comfortable – we say go for it. But, on the other hand, you shouldn’t feel you have to – breastfeeding is the most natural thing in the world. Although, of course, that’s not to denigrate any mom who cannot, or chooses not to breastfeed. Being a new mom can be tough, and we support you however you decide to feed your baby.
Our nursing covers are super comfortable, plenty big enough and easy to pop in the washing machine. We’ve tried and tested them all before offering them to you.
