A very necessary nursery item, changing pads can turn the top of a dresser into a comfy surface on which to change baby diapers, but they are also great for changing when you’re out and about. This is something you’ll be doing plenty of and no one wants to put their child down on a dirty public changing station, so a pad can make it nicer for baby and for you.
Changing Pads
A Necessity For Every Nursery and Change Bag
Protecting Your Babies, As Well As Your Furniture!
Many changing pads incorporate raised sides, with contours to hold your little one securely, while some also have a safety belt to fasten around his tummy, and straps to attach the pad to whatever surface you’ve got it resting on. It’s a good idea to look for one that has a non-slip bottom, too, as babies aren’t known for lying quietly while you change them. Most changing pads are wipe-clean and waterproof, which can come in very useful for those unpredictable wet or messy moments!
Most of us end up having several changing pads, often scattered around the house in convenient places – for example, near the sofa for those rapid, emergency changes, and a portable, or easily rolled, pad that fits in our diaper bag.
There’s no escaping the fact that babies pee and poo, and you’ll spend many wearisome months mopping up mess, but with a changing pad (or several), at least your house won’t get covered in it.
